THE LITZ - ex-Tomb of Litziele

The project is based in Lviv, Ukraine. The first demo-records under the name "Tomb of Litziele", that presented the experiments with darkfolk and disco, were produced in spring - summer, 2000. At the same time some manifestation articles in Ukrainian were written, as the part (besides the music) of the project "Tomb of Litziele - Aesthetical Movement for Subconscious Purity", that existed until September, 2000. The date of the first open rehearsal - 27th August, 2000 - became the date of the band foundation. At that time 5 songs were written to be included to the first longplay "Cold Forest", depicting the post-apocalyptic consciousness. This album remained unreleased, but some songs from it became the part of various demo releases, one of them will also be included to the new album.

During the time of the year two demo recordings were produced by the band in various line-ups: "Kill The Sun" (February, 2001, featuring the guest musicians of MindZero / Maria Zakharova), in the style of minimal folkrock, included the first songs of the band; and "Likeness" (September, 2001) - the first recording with the current line-up, integrating the elements of triphop and ambient. Also the fully electronical instrumental longplay "World Minds" was produced from May to October, 2001. It is dedicated to the interaction of the modern technologies and the mythological mind, and includes the elements of ambient, IDM and techno-pop.

In November, 2001, the returning to the old ideas of integration of concepts and some musical elements of darkfolk with disco music occured, the work on the new material began. In December, 2001 the band was renamed to The Litz, with the line-up: Black Mary - guitars, voice; Danner - music, texts, synths, voice. In February, 2002, the proposed demo/MCD had been produced. The demo-material of the new album is presented by the first and the second tracks, the rest two tracks are exclusive. The second track is the cover of the song with the lyrics of well-known Russian poet and bard Bulat S. Okudzhava. The song title's translation is "Sentries of Love".
